Yetunde Johnson is a UK based singer song writer from North London. Yetunde was born in Lagos Nigeria and her family migrated to the UK when she was five. Two years later Yetunde was singing at her local church every weekend. Whilst still very young, Yetunde toured around the UK with a youth gospel choir.\nAs well as being passionate about music, Yetunde has a love for athletics. During her secondary school years she qualified to represent her school in major competitions and was also selected to represent Haringey, Essex Ladies and England under 18's in the 100 and 200 meters, 4x4 relay, long jump, triple jump and shot put. Yetunde thrived in both track and field events winning several gold medals and breaking and setting new records at her school. Although scouted to train and compete at professional level for a major athletics club, Yetunde elected to pursue full time education and concentrate upon her music.\n \n \nYetunde continued to tour with the Liberty Youth Choir and led the 'praise' team from her early teens. By her late teens Yetunde had become an accomplished solo artist with a definitive voice and style of writing. She recorded a number of demos in a friend's make shift studio which were produced by her brothers' production company Niimp (Nothing is impossible) Records. During this phase Yetunde worked with various UK artists including Loudmouth, Offkey, Yolanda Brown, and comedian Eddie Kadi. Yetunde also shared the stage with gospel legend Ron Kenoly. Her growing number of fans liken her to Mary J Blige, Brandy, Beyonce and Yolanda Adams and she approaches her songs with strong vocal confidence and her performances reveal a woman who has a natural ability to connect with her audience.\n \nIn the summer of 2008 Yetunde signed up with Real Music and Management, and a few months later she signed to the independent label Greengarden Records as their first female solo artist and began recording her debut album in both the US and UK. Alongside the likes of Anita Mcloud, Chris Arms, Benny Bizzie and Danny Schogger, Yetunde co-wrote her entire album as well as collaborating with label mate Haydon Eshun on a track.\n \n \nYetunde went on a club land UK tour in early May 2010 through to July during which time her debut single 'I'm What you Want' went straight in to the pop club charts. She has been featured in various magazines and newspaper articles which all emphasise that Yetunde is definitely an artist to watch out for. She was the cover girl for the Soulm8 magazine in July 2010 and was featured in Blues and Soul Magazine as one of HMV�s recommended artists for 2010.\n \nYetunde's debut album is titled 'Favourite Things' and is set for release early 2011. She describes the songs on her album as an outlet for emotions which draw from personal experiences, conversations and humorous situations from every day life. 'It's just scratching the surface of my abilities as an artist. 'It's like an introduction to who I am and hopefully will leave you wanting to know more', says the flame haired singer.
