Formed in 2008, Wound Upon Wound embellishes elements of Black Metal, Death Metal, Doom and experimentation to create a focused sound that is both intense and sombre.\nIn 2010, WUW completed local support slots with Irish bands as well as their first International show with Witchsorrow (UK).\nAfter completing this first instalment of live shows the band recorded the Ep entitled “Grievance”.\nThis Ep was released in mid 2010, on the Irish label “Underground Movement” and was very well received in Ireland, and gained outstanding reviews from international publications such as Zero Tolerance Magazine and Terrorizer magazine as well as online blogs.\nWith the release of this Ep the band cemented support slots with bigger international bands such as Trench Hell (Australia), Vomitor(Australia) and a mini tour with Gorath(Belgium).\n2011 solidified the band's reputation of an intense live show and WUW appeared as main support to Procession(Chile) in Dublin as well as supporting 1349 on their only Irish Date in 2011.\nWound Upon Wound entered the studio once more in Oct 2011 to record their debut album and are currently seeking a suitable and dedicated label to work alongside on the release of this album.
