I wrote my first song when I was in 8th grade. Ever since I was a punk rock kid stumbling through Blink 182 power chords, I have been obsessed with music. It’s my release and my passion – the fullest form of my expression.\n\nMy style has progressed from punk rock to alt rock to some strange combination of pop, rock, electronic and hip-hop – I’ve never really liked using genre descriptions, they are so vague.\n\nComing from an awesome experience of being in an indie band called Zoo Studio in college, I’m now out to experiment with new sounds and styles as well as define what it means to be “John Steen” musically speaking. I’ve just recorded an excellent EP with UK producer Lorenzo Cosi and am so excited to hear your opinion on it.
